WTH is Confetti for the Techie?
We’re a personal tech blog + social space for anyone to learn and contribute. The definition of technology has expanded over years of innovation and need for creation. Because of this, we believe technology blogs should be easy to read with a simple layout, minimal ads, with fun, personalized, content for users. We hope our tech blog + social space is just that!
Why This, Why Now?
Confetti for the Techie was born one day when I was job searching on Linkedin (after I left my most recent job). I was super motivated, using the “Easy Apply” button, when I was logged out of Linkedin. When I tried to return, I was told my account had been restricted, the reason being “For more details on the kinds of behaviour that can result in restriction, refer to the “Do’s and Don’ts” section of our User Agreement.” I was frustrated, and did what any motivated frustrated person would do, went to Pinterest to resolve my “click itch”. Once there, I started clicking all of the “How to Make Money from Blogging” posts I had been avoiding. (I was convinced I was going to land a job blogging and doing Social Media for a major company.) I soon realized I shouldn’t be waiting for a call for my dream job. With the realization that I could help others and pursue my goals while job searching, I was finally ready to share the passion for technology and try out/review the newest tech with the world. I knew I could do it, I mean I spend most of my free time writing Google and Yelp reviews, so it was just a matter of making time to make it great.
I have so much to share, as well as, hope that many of the Confetti Techie community members will join me in sharing their favorite technology, tips, and tricks. This is more than a blog, it’s a social space for us all to share and promote great products, companies, and people that make our days a little better.
