Is tech too much of a good thing? That’s the question we’ve been getting a lot of lately.
We’ve made it our mission to make our tech space a place that promotes tech, the good + the bad, and how to integrate it into our personal lives.
It is easy to get sucked into the black hole of tech apps, products, and programs. We wanted to start this Sunday series to provide you with tech alternatives, apps, products, and more, that help you be proactive about your self care. Let’s face it, Facebook, new phones and apps, aren’t going away anytime soon. But we humans, unfortunately, won’t be around forever (unless someone creates some eternal living serum).
Today we’re featuring an awesome app that tracks the amount of time you spend on your phone and a podcast that dives deep into low fee investments (in time for tax season).
Self Care App of the Week:
“Moment is an iOS app that automatically tracks how much you use your iPhone and iPad each day. If you’re using your phone too much, you can set daily limits on yourself and be notified when you go over. You can even force yourself off your device when you’re over your limit.” – Moment
There are advanced features you can pay for, and even a feature that’s free that tracks your app usage (but requires a daily screenshot of you apps on your phone). All in all, its good to have the data and perspective when you are trying to change a habit like using your phone too much.
Self Care Podcast of the Week
“It’s hard enough to save for a house, tuition, or retirement. So why are we willing to pay big fees for subpar investment returns? Enter the low-cost index fund. The revolution will not be monetized.
This podcasts talks about the beginning of Index funds and why they are important to you. You can read the podcast or you can listen on the go here.
