About a year ago, NACA gifted me with one of my TFF’s (Tech friends forever), the original tile. This little piece of magic was a game changer for my life, until they released the new tile this summer, which is more durable and can call your phone. You can purchase it from Amazon, Best Buy, and other retailers, or, purchase from the Tile Website.
Here’s the condensed confetti version of why I love the product. (A more in depth review is at the bottom)
- Champagne and satin white looks so good on anything. But they do have a dark slate and graphite if that’s your thing.
- Made of 99% recyclable materials
- Water and dust resistant for 60 minutes (that’s a whole hour your keys or wallet can be underwater and still be located)
- Uses a bluetooth tracker to locate items (last location near you)
- Has a “Tile Community” you can tap into to help locate your items if lost
- Double tap to call your phone (even if it’s on silent, yep)
- Fun accessories (and adhesive to stick your Tile wherever)
I’ve been using this Tile Pro Series for about a month now, and it continuously impresses me. I remember when the Apple Watch came out, my favorite feature was the “call your phone” feature. However, if that is the only reason you use your Apple Watch, then spend your money on a product made for keeping up with your items, a Tile costs less than $30, and if you buy 8, you receive a discount.
I use the Tile Pro I have currently on my keychain, which is great because I can keep up with my keys by calling the Tile from the Tile App, and keep up with phone by double clicking the Tile Button on my keychain.
You might be thinking “That’s too much for such a small, rare usage item. However, if you are like me, it will pay for itself and your sanity on a regular basis by giving you peace of mind. The Tile App alerts you if your Tile is no longer in range, which I experienced first hand when I left my purse at a restaurant one afternoon. I saw that the last location I had with the Tile was at the restaurant. When I arrived, it was there, and I spent so little time searching and calling around. (Funny thing, I did call the restaurant once I saw it was there last to get them to hold it, and they said they didn’t see it. I’m glad I had the Tile and knew to go there despite the information from the restaurant.)
My other success story I will share (although I have plenty more, as I lose things often) was when I lost my Keys one night. We had gotten out of our Uber and made it to our apartment at the time, when I realized, I did not have my keys. I pulled up my Tile app and although it isn’t a GPS tracker, I saw that it’s last location was with me in the parking lot and that it was no longer there. I called my driver and we reconnected within the hour.
Think about those times where you lost your wallet, keys, driver’s license, etc, and how much money you spent replacing the items. To me, buying a Tile was a no brainer, and with the new look, I love it even more. I haven’t had to use the community feature yet to even track down an item, although I’ve heard it is stellar. I also love that they are creative with their accessories, creating a Tile Zip Strap to attach a tile to your bike, and money clip for the minimalist.
There are so many great features that come with Tile, as well as, an array of other Tile products. All Tiles will sync with the Tile App, so you only have to go one place to see all of your items. You can also use the app’s bluetooth to link others to your tile (say, a family member). If you have a Tile, or decide to get one (or two), I’d love to know your thoughts and how you use it.
So, tell me, how are you using your tile? I would love to add it to my every growing list of “Different Ways to Use Tile”
